Coming to The Spice of Life, Soho, London. Henry Spencer and Juncture is a quintet led by the multi-award winning composer and trumpet player, Henry Spencer. With collaboration of Grammy Award Winner Dave Darlington in New York, he released his debut album 'The Reasons Don't Change' on Whirlwind Recordings, receiving critical acclaim across Europe and the UK. ('Contender for Album of the Year' - All About Jazz.) His quintet, 'Henry Spencer and Juncture', is featured on The Reasons Don't Change, along with the addition of strings on several compositions.   

Henry Spencer and Juncture is:  

Henry Spencer - trumpet, flugelhorn and compositions (Winner of Emerging Excellence Award, Winner of Best Newcomer Award at Marlborough Jazz Festival)   

Ant Law - guitar (Tim Garland, Jason Rebello, Ant Law Trio) 

Andrew Robb - bass (Winner of BBC Radio Scotland Jazz Musician of the Year 2009)      

David Ingamells - drums (Yamaha Jazz Outstanding Musicians Scholar 2013, Winner of Chartered Surveyors' Prize 2013)

Matt Robinson - Piano (BBC Radio 3, Yamaha New Jazz Sessions)

Drawing on influences from jazz, rock and minimalism, the group creates an exciting and emotive sound world with a focus on emotional and creative expression. From touring and performing regularly the group draws upon years of playing together, resulting in a deep musical understanding and interaction between the musicians. This musical empathy, along with Henry’s fresh compositional approach led them to winning the Best Newcomer Award at the Marlborough Jazz Festival and The Emerging Excellence Award.
